Walk to School – Road Safety
As part of Walk to School Week we have been talking about road safety.
We learned that there are 4 main rules:
We talked abut how we could get to school instead of using a car – our ideas were: walk, scooter, bike, bus, pram!
We went outside and practiced walking sensibly across a pedestrian crossing. The children then had a lovely afternoon of being police and drivers.
We introduced two key words: environment and pollution.
This links into our Rights Respecting School ethos of looking out for our environment and caring for others. At Beeches children engage in action to campaign and/or advocate for the rights of children locally and globally. Most children and young people understand their role as global citizens.
