Special Visitors

We had 13 bantam chicks in our class today and we got a chance to observe them and hold them.  A lovely experience for children to be able to learn about them first hand.

Animal Categories

This week we have be sorting animals into the 5 main categories, Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and fish.  The Owls did some collaborative work where they produced a poster of animals in the different groups.

Augustus and his smile

This week we have read a story about a tiger who thinks he has lost his smile so sets out to find it.  Only to discover that whenever he is happy his smile will appear. We have discussed emotions and how our face and body show which emotion we are feeling.

Division

This week we have been dividing by grouping and by sharing.  We have worked practically and then recorded using sentences like, 3 groups of 5. The Owls have learnt the skill of working systematically to share.
