Reading in reception
Last week we started our Guided Reading sessions with the children.
The children read with an adult in a small group three times per week.
We are currently looking at books with no words, asking the children to talk about what they see, what they think is happening and what they think will happen next.
The children are demonstrating that they can hold a book the right way up, find the front cover, and turn pages from front to back. They are starting to read CVC words featuring the phonemes we have learnt so far.
