Year 2 enjoyed identifying the different trees with their partners using identification wheels. They looked carefully at the leaves and then matched them to those on their wheels. They also got even closer to the trees when playing “Meet a tree!” They worked in pairs again with one person wearing a blindfold and the other guiding them carefully to a tree. The blindfolded person would then “ meet” the tree by feeling the texture of the trunk, width of the trunk and any other features by feeling and hugging the trees. They were then guided back to the starting position where they removed their blindfold and had to try to identify the tree they had met.
