Observing the world around us.

The children in EYFS were able to have a very close look at some tree bees. They weren’t alive therefore the were able to look really carefully at them, touch, feel and hold them. The children have made some super mini beasts using natural resources, thinking carefully about how many legs their mini beast has and whether they have wings too.

The children have also been able to carefully handle an empty birds nest. They talked about how they thought it had been made and what had been used. The children then worked together in small groups to create a nest of their own.

I was lucky enough to visit forest school with EYFS and saw the bees up close – it was fascinating. It was also wonderful to see the children working together gathering resources to make their creations
