This week we have completed our learning about the Gingerbread Man.
We have been continuing our science investigations on floating and sinking and the children enjoyed discovering that apples and bananas float!
In maths we have been learning to count on from a given number rather than starting at 1 all of the time. Its part of our maths mastery – where we train our brains to be clever and find the easy way of doing things. We have used tens frames, counters, number lines and number stories to help us. For example 3 people were on the bus. 3 more people got on at Asda. How many people are on the bus now? Teaching the children to start at 3 when counting instead of 1, because we already know there were 3 to start with. Some children have even been counting on from 10!
