Angelic voices.

Well done to all of Year 2 for a magnificent team effort in presenting our concert of traditional carols. Who needs backing music? Certainly not Year 2!  It was lovely to hear your voices ring out so clearly. Well done! Happy Christmas.

A long journey…

On Thursday, we began our long journey to Bethlehem.  After a little while, to our amazement, we met 3 wise travellers who were looking for the special star to find baby Jesus.  They had three special gifts for Jesus and a very modern camel! We also met shepherds, a Town Crier, a gatekeeper and, of […]

Absorbing Science!

This week we were investigating which building material would be the most suitable to keep Miss James’ granny dry. We worked cooperatively, using good observation skills. Come and ask us what we found out.

Working Scientifically.

Mrs Talliss’ daughter has adopted an abandoned kitten. Although the kitten is very cute, it has not learnt to use a litter tray yet!  We decided to help out and investigate which type of paper is the best to soak up small puddles! We used our science skills of observation and counted the drops of […]

Living, dead, or never alive?

This is the question we have been investigating this week in Whales’ class. How does this plant fit our investigation question? We solved the question set by Mrs Talliss, can you? Come and ask us!  Here are some more photos of our investigation. Can you work out which part of the investigation our examples match? […]

Colour Commotion!

This week we have been investigating how to make secondary colours by mixing sets of primary colours together. The results were amazing as children applied their knowledge of tints and tones to make a variety of shades from their secondary colour mixes. Well done for working so sensibly and creatively.

Our Expedition!

Sharing our Faith.

This week  there was a wonderful example of respect and cooperation  in Whales class as children shared their understanding of Diwali.  It was lovely to hear personal experiences being shared in such a respectful environment. We linked our learning to Unicef Article 14, which says everyone has the right to practice their own faith. Well […]

Masters of co-operation!

This week everyone co-operated really well making a section of our very own Pudding Lane.  We looked at examples of buildings of that time and tried to recreate the decoration on each of the houses. As it’s Pudding Lane, we wonder what will happen next…

Great balance!

In P.E. this week we have shown good co-operation, working together exploring different types of balance and three different shapes.  We have begun to link these movements into a new sequence to build on our earlier work on travelling safely across apparatus. Well done Whales, great balancing teamwork!
