Congratulations and Jubilations!

Wow!  Year 2, you are a credit to our school.  You gave  fantasticperformance in your Leavers’ Assembly on Friday.  There was scarcely a dry eye in the hall.  Whales, we could hear every word you said and your singing was brilliant. Well done. You all looked so grown up in your cap and gowns.

Water, water everywhere…

We all had a fantastic time last night at the leavers’ BBQ and water party.  So many people were thoroughly soaked through, but the squeals of laughter showed that a great time was had by all!  The bonus of the weather being so hot was that we didn’t stay wet for long! Well done everybody, […]

This means that we are combining design technology and science.  So this afternoon was a hive of activity as the designs became a reality.  We aim to add the finishing touches next week, so do […]

This week, in science, we began looking at food chains.  We began by ordering pictures and explaining our reasoning.  By comparing different explanations from around the class, a few voices began to realise that all the pictures could […]

Well done Whales for coming to school in your sports clothes and for joining in so enthusiastically this afternoon.  Thank you to all who sent in an entry for the obstacle course.  Fantastic chanting and a variety of ball control techniques!

Growing Green Fingers!

This week children from different year groups have been busy filling their class garden boxes with lovely plants. As a group of children from Whales Class filled our box, they felt the compost and learned how to plant successfully, taking care not to damage the plants’ roots.  We have also been growing cress in the […]

Scientific Enquiry: hydroponics!

This week we have extended our scientific enquiry to investigate if plants can grow from seed and thrive from just living in water. The scientific name for this process is hydroponics. We have created small greenhouses to cultivate our bean seeds. Come and find out if they are growing…

Our Visit to Birmingham Central Mosque.

On Wednesday, Year 2 visited Birmingham’s Central Mosque as part of our learning about different faiths. This also demonstrates  our commitment as a Unicef Rights Respecting School as Article 14 states: everyone has the right to follow their own faith. We received a really warm welcome from our guide Mr T, who helped us to […]
