Merry Christmas everyone….

What a lovely end to the week in Tiger class. The children have made Christmas cards and made enterprise Christmas activities for their parents. We are incredibly proud of all the children and the progress they have made this first term. We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Roll up, roll up…

Raffle tickets are available from the classroom for £1 for a strip. Please send your money in a named envelope and we will send your tickets at the end of the day. There are 2 great prizes and the raffle will be drawn on Weds 16th December. Good luck!

Making 5

This week the children have been using our Maths resource ‘Numicon’ to make 5 in lots of different ways. The shapes are fantastic to visually represent number bonds to 5. The children made all ways of making 5 and then they could say the number calculation. Well done Tigers!

The Marble Jar is full

This week the Tiger children had a movie afternoon! The children have earned a full jar of marbles for exceptional behaviour. The children watched ‘The Land of the Dinosaurs,’ which nicely fitted in with our topic on Dinosaurs. They also enjoyed chocolate cake and popcorn. Keep up the excellent behaviour, Tigers!

Remembrance Day

On the 11th November the children learned about ‘poppy day.’ We held a two-minute silence at 11am to honour and remember the fallen soldiers. Jackson Pollock

This week we have explored the artist Jackson Pollock. He was famous for dripping and splattering paint, working above his canvas to create different styles of painting. The Tigers created their own paintings based on fireworks. They did a great job!

Walls Bars

In PE this week the children were given a range of equipment to climb and jump. The children were very brave and so we got the wall bars out! The children showed sheer determination to pull and climb up to very high heights!

Leaf Man

This week the children have been exploring a story called ‘Leaf Man.’ This is a wonderful story to explore Autumn. From this the children went on a nature walk to collect their own leaves. They made their own leaf men and described where their leaf men might travel to in the wind. Excellent work, Tigers!
