So as you are aware Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall and cracked his head open. The Owl class decided to test out different materials we could use to make Humpty an impact suit. Then we tested the fall!!!
This week in Art we made green by mixing yellow and blue. The children experimented by mixing different amounts of these colours and observed the effects. They created 5 different shades and then painted their hand print.
We have got some exciting new equipment in the year 1 playground to keep the children occupied during playtime.
This week we have been doing work on numberlines. An example of some of my questioning and discussion is:- Jim is counting on a number line. He says 14 is in the middle of 10 and 20. Is he correct? How do you know? I then gave them sentence starters to say their reasoning.
Today the Owls have taken part in the world largest lesson. We talked about climate change and sustainable goals. We completed an activity where we designed and built walls, exploring the different ways that we can affect each other and our community through the things we build.
Today we created art work inspired by Jasper Johns 0-9 piece from 1960. We used primary colours then made secondary colours to paint numbers. The children were so focused and enjoyed creating their master pieces.
What a fantastic day we all had to promote our well being! On Well being day we all got to come to school in our comfortable clothes and explore different ways that we can look after ourselves. We made some great mood bottles and bags which was very messy but so much fun! We used […]
