INSPIRE workshop

This week we invited parents into school for our Maths workshop. The children had a great time showing their grown up some of the activities and resources we use to support Maths in school.  A big thank you to everyone who attended.

World Book Day

Number day

What an action packed day we have had today, the children really enjoyed the star jump challenge and a host of other fun activities. We listened to maths stories including ‘Handa’s Hen’ by Eileen Browne, we sang counting songs and the children really enjoyed learning about ‘big numbers’. 3D shape treasure hunt

The children enjoyed searching for 3D shapes in our outdoor learning environment. They  matched  them to familiar everyday shapes and discussed their properties with their friends. They used their knowledge of 2D shapes to name the faces and counted sides, corners and straight edges. Good job Monkeys!

Wishing Tree

Chinese New Year

The children have enjoyed learning all about Chinese New Year.  We have retold the race story using puppets, paid for Chinese food items using 1p and 10p coins and we had a go at eating noodles using chopsticks.  The children enjoyed finding out how Chinese New Year is celebrated.

BeeBots

The children enjoyed recreating the story of the bear hunt in our outdoor learning environment.
